National Sweetest Day

“Be sweet, be good, and honest always.” Emma Bunton

For over 100 years, National Sweetest Day encourages everyone to be generous even in the smallest ways. Today reminds us that even small tokens improve the lives of those around us.

On National Sweetest Day, take care of all those who need extra attention. Even those who need significant care, when given the smallest token, will feel the effects. A little treat, a card, a show of support during a time of need may be the sweetest gift on this day. Be sweet!

About the photo: my daughter Tessa and our former Marketing intern Gibbs being sweet to each other.

The Future of ERP Technology

• Technology is becoming more human-like.

Productivity Tip | Read.AI Start/Stop in MS Teams

We have begun testing Read.AI as a tool to record and transcribe
Microsoft Teams meetings and it has appeared to be more accurate
in its transcriptions than Microsoft Teams’ inherent transcription
capability (we are continuing to use both at the moment).
For those of you who are also using Read.AI, you might not yet
have found out how to either stop Read.AI from recording and
transcribing a Microsoft Teams session that is already in progress
and/or to add Read.AI to begin recording and transcribing a
Microsoft Teams session that is already in progress.
Here’s how you can do each:
Stop Read.AI
You can stop Read.AI during a Microsoft Teams meeting by:
• Type Read Stop to have Read.AI leave the meeting but still generate
a report.
• Type Opt Out to have Read.AI leave the meeting and delete all the
data it’s collected.
Start Read.AI
You can start Read.AI during a Microsoft Teams meeting by:

1. Go into your Read.AI account
2. Look for the “Add to Live meeting” button on the bottom left-hand navigation bar.
3. Paste in the URL of your in-progress MS Teams meeting.
A. In MS Teams, click ellipses (…)
B. Click on Meeting info
C. Click on Copy Invite Link
D. Paste into the Read.AI – https://app.read.ai/analytics/add page

Leadership 101 | Tips from Bri

By Bri Williams

Front row seat

I’m going to let you in on a little secret: very few are doing it well. Reviewing the work of others is something I do a lot. When clients share with me their website, marketing, proposals and internal comms, I get to see what’s happening ‘out there’, across all industries, functions and sizes of organization. I have a front row seat to people’s best work.

And here’s what’s disappointing: The intent is there, people want to do great work, they may even think they are. But for the work to be great, it needs to be effective. And to be effective, it needs to influence desired behavior. Unless your web designer, marketing and sales teams have training in behavioral science, all their work will be less effective than it should and can be. When you know how to change behavior, you can change the world.

Your Desk

If a messy desk symbolizes a messy mind, what does an empty desk symbolize?” It’s a quip attributed to Einstein, though there’s no proof he said it. It’s a favorite of mine because my father was (is!) notorious for having a messy desk.

Regardless, I believe the state of my physical desks pace has an impact on my psychology. So, as simple as the tips that follow may seem, they might just help you like they do me.

• Feeling overwhelmed?
Clear your physical desk space. Seeing a clear surface will calm you, give you a sense of control and a fresh beginning. The physicality of sorting will trick your brain into that mindset.

• Feeling uninspired or stuck?
Create some mess. Sometimes, when things look too pristine, we can be shy to ‘break the seal’. When things are already a bit messy, we give our brain’s permission to let go.
